City of Ellensburg: Sun for Everyone!
The City of Ellensburg encourages solar development at the community level. As a municipality that operates their own utility, the City and utility work together to make solar development a simple, straightforward process.
The City of Ellensburg’s Community Renewable Park hosts one of the first shared solar projects in the nation.
The solar installations at the Park are funded by voluntary contributions from City residents and businesses. In exchange for their financial support, contributors receive a dollar credit on their electric bill every three months for the value of the electricity produced by the renewable systems, for a period of 20 years.

The City of Ellensburg operates its own municipal electric utility. As a smaller jurisdiction with few interconnection customers, they provide personal face to face service to guide customers through the process.
